Are you in compliance?

The National Pensions Office (NPO) first priority is to ensure that employers are in compliance with the National Pensions Law (NPL).

Section 4 of the NPL states that every employer shall provide a pension plan and make contributions on behalf of every person employed by them (with limited exceptions).

Any employer in contravention of this section can be subject to a fine of up to $10,000.

Pension coverage is not optional, it is compulsory for both the employer and all eligible employees.

Amending a plan or changing providers is permitted providing agreement has been reached with employees and the proper process followed.
